Only after two months of diving down to the wreck in the dark of night was Gabe sure that the entire haul had been removed. He sat at home waiting for his wife to arrive from her job making circuit boards at the nearby electronics factory. Her VW pulled into the driveway and stopped. She got out and walked to the front door, of course David was waiting to greet her.
"Dinner is cooked, the house is clean and I have something important to tell you". Said David.
Elizabeth normally came back home after a hard day at work expecting to, take off her ankle supports, make dinner, clean the house and all the other wifely duties that had settled into their marriage. This day was going to be different. They sat down for dinner which was comprised of fillet steak, the most creamy mashed potato ever and beautiful thick gravy. They both enjoyed the dinner, David enjoyed dinner knowing that what he was about to tell Elizabeth was going to make her happy. Elizabeth enjoyed dinner knowing that she had an evening of relaxing and wine ahead of her. They finished dinner and David took Elizabeth by the hand and took her out to the shed in the garden. They entered, David went to one of the cupboards and took out a box. He opened the box and showed the contents to Elisabeth. twelve gold coins, large, heavy and old looking. Elizabeth took the coins out of the bag and examined them.
"Oh my god David, where did you find them?". David told her about the shipwreck and how he'd dived down the the wreck each evening once night had faded to get the whole haul. When he told her that it had taken over two months she looked a little confused. Why had it taken David over two months to bring back twelve coins? she thought. He walked over to 8 large boxes and opened them. He removed the elbow supports that were on the top revealing boxes overflowing with gold coins.
"Each coin is worth approximately twelve hundred pounds. I have approximately four million coins here making to total of four billion, eight hundred million pounds worth of gold."
